The Selmer Mark VI series is a world-respected model that debuted in 1954, manufactured in France and went through numerous design changes until its phasing out for the Mark VII in the mid-1970s. Key jazz musicians have performed on the Mark VI, such as Cannonball Adderley, Ornette Coleman, Phil Woods, and is a highly sought after horn for its flexibility, comfort and projection. This instrument features the Low A key, a spacious, uncluttered key system, engraved design, with an unlacquered, worn vintage look.
Based on this horn's serial number, it was manufactured in Henri Selmer's Paris factory and then assembled in the United States in 1975. It is a horn most notable for quick response, fluidity, and a rich "Selmer Tone."
