When shopping around for musical instruments you may say something to yourself like, "Why would I choose this store over another?" or "What can a local shop like this offer me?" In this post we'll go over some of the reasons for choosing Summerhays.
Let's dive in!
We're your local music shop
Summerhays has been part of the music community in Utah County for over 50 years. We are constantly working with professional musicians and teachers in the area to best serve their needs and the needs of their students. Over time we have curated the best selection of instruments and accessories as demanded by the community.
We are also proud supporters of music education in Utah. Every year we sponsor several local concerts, festivals, and conferences, as well as provide opportunities such as deep discounts for schools, continuing education for teachers, and masterclasses for students.
Trusted brands at competitive prices
Summerhays is an authorized dealer for many major brands and makers of pianos, keyboards, brass, woodwinds, and string instruments, as well as accessories for those instruments. In addition, we are recognized as a NAMM Top 100 Dealer and seen as a trusted partner for many manufacturers. Here is a quick look at just some of the brands we offer:
These are all brands that professional musicians and educators know and trust. In many cases we are the exclusive dealer in Utah for specific brands and instruments. For example, you won't be able to find new Yamaha trumpets and saxophones anywhere else in the state, or you won't be able to find new Kawai pianos at any other local piano dealer.
And did you know that there are some instruments that manufacturers won't even sell online? These instruments are sold exclusively through brick-and-mortar stores like Summerhays.
Our prices are also highly competitive. Come visit us or subscribe to our email list to get exclusive deals on instruments you won't find anywhere else online!
Try before you buy
In addition to carrying some of the most trusted brands in the industry, we also stock a large selection of those instruments in-house. Did you know that between every Summerhays location you can choose from over 350 intermediate and professional violins? Or from over 200 wooden clarinets? How about 200 step-up and professional trumpets?
You don't have to make a blind decision or make one solely on someone else's review. We allow our customers to try an instrument out before they buy it to see if it's the right fit for them.
And in the event we don't have an instrument in stock you'd like, let us know and we'll work with our supplier partners to get it into your hands.
Play now, pay over time!
You don't have to pay hundreds or thousands of dollars upfront to get a new instrument. You can play your instrument now and pay for it over time.
We offer affordable payment plans on almost any instrument in the store. Get 12 months of 0% interest financing on the instrument of your choosing, or make monthly payments with our rent-to-own program.
And be sure to check back regularly for additional promotions from our partners!
Trade credit for your old instrument
When you rent or purchase an instrument from Summerhays you can actually get some of that money back as trade credit towards another instrument rental or purchase.
So say you started out renting a 1/2-size violin for a beginning player but they've outgrown it. You can apply your trade credit to a 3/4-size violin, and then a full-size violin. Or if you have a student saxophone and want to upgrade to a professional sax, bring in the student sax and trade towards the pro model.
But what if you didn't get an instrument from Summerhays? That's okay! Bring in your old instrument, we'll assess its value, and offer you trade credit for another instrument in our store!
We provide warranty service
When you buy a new instrument you expect there to be a manufacturer's warranty. A little-known secret about the musical instruments industry, though, is that most manufacturers will generally provide warranty service through the dealer you originally purchased the instrument from.
So if your instrument came from our store and has an issue such as keys going out of alignment or wood warping from the climate we can do the necessary repairs right away. There's no need to spend extra time or money to ship your instrument off to a distant repair facility.
In addition to manufacturers' warranties we also provide an in-house warranty on select instruments and repairs, ensuring you get the best care and service possible.
