About Scott Thomas Lesser

Scott Thomas Lesser is an accomplished cellist and educator with over two decades of experience. He has been a cello instructor at Brigham Young University since 2020, where he shares his deep knowledge of string pedagogy to a wide variety of students. His passion for performance, education, history, and theory ensures that his students receive a comprehensive musical experience that bridges technique and artistry.

Scott's performance career included over a decade in the Greater Boston area. A co-founder of North Shore Chamber Music, he was a frequent chamber and orchestra musician. This included Principal and Acting Principal Cello positions with the Vista Philharmonic Orchestra (formerly Orchestra of Indian Hill), Cape Ann Symphony, and Atlantic Symphony. He currently is an active cellist in Utah, playing and recording for a variety of ensembles and projects. Scott volunteers as a member of the Orchestra at Temple Square.
